The Antwerp 10 miles is one of the biggest events of the city.
It is a fantastic running event for everybody, whether you are young or not so young, sportive or just trying to get back into shape again.
Every year, around 40 000 people come to Antwerp to run.
This year, the Antwerp 10 miles and marathon will be held on the 26th of April 2020.
There are several distances available:
First of all, there is the famous Antwerp 10 miles, which measures 16 km. The majority of the people will run this distance and that’s why the organisation divided the start in 3 waves. The first starts at 14.00, the second at 14.30 and the third at 15.00. The time limit to run this distance is 2 hours and 15 minutes. You will start and finish on the left bank of the city.
For who is still starting out to run and the 10 miles is a bit too far, then there’s the Antwerp Short Run, that measures 6 km. They start at 12.00 on the left bank.
And, last but not
least, at 11.00 the kids can go crazy in the Kid's Run. It measures 1.4 km and
is open to all children from 4 to 12 years old.
All runs will start and finish on the left bank, with the start on the Thonetlaan and the finish on the Charles de Costerlaan.
There will also be a big tent on the Frederik Van Eedenplein where you will pick up your starter’s pack, on the days before the run on Sunday.
In the big tent, there will be the Runners’ Lab Expo where you can find and buy everything that you might possibly need as a runner, from running shoes to heart rate monitors, from special creams to nutritious food and drinks.
The official Antwerp 10 Miles hotel this year is the Mercure Antwerp City South hotel. They will offer you a good price to stay in Antwerp during the event, 109 euro per room per night. On the running day, they will organise an early breakfast with pasta and they allow a late check out. Try the book as early as you can as rooms are limited.
